2012 Pinot Gris
What We Taste
Beautifully stylized, lively character. Ripe nectarine, apricot, and honeyed citrus notes lead to a long elegant citrus and mango finish with shimmering mineral accents. A stunning expression of Oregon Pinot Gris.
What We Made
Our winemaker, Reinhard Schlassa, has a professional history that includes making many critically acclaimed wines in Oregon for about a decade. Aside from being Asst Winemaker at Argyle, he's worked with a Who's Who of other acclaimed winemakers (Tony Soter, for example).
So, every year he returns to his roots, and we produce a small amount of premium Oregon Pinot Gris from the ever beautiful Chalice Vineyard, near Cottage Grove. Stainless steel fermented for 4 weeks at chilly 48-50 degrees, our Gris is gorgeous. Fresh, elegantly expressive, gorgeous. 199 cases produced. 13.2% ABV.
How We Serve
Nice and cool at about 50-60 degrees. That's roughly 20-25 minutes in your refrigerator before serving (When in doubt, chill it a little longer. You can always bring it up to temp quickly). Enjoy it with many light to mid-weight roast meats.
